Cleanrooms ISO 8 & ISO 5 – The heart of advanced production

Sealtech, specializing in the reduction of particulate and/or filmic contamination on parts and/or end components in cleanroom quality.

Sealtech Ultraclean Solutions – Cleanrooms certified according to ISO 5 and ISO 8

Anyone who has special requirements regarding component cleanliness will sometimes have no choice but to operate so-called "clean rooms" . A clean room is a closed room equipped with multiple-filtered air and, above all, overpressure, which is sealed off as perfectly as possible from the other rooms and the outside world by a material and personnel lock system.

The cleanliness requirements for components of all kinds have increased considerably in recent years - in practically every industry. There are many reasons for this, including: Components that are becoming smaller require greater precision in production; tolerances are therefore becoming ever tighter, and to put it simply, there is no room for dirt. On the other hand, technical components are often required to have better thermal performance values; this usually also requires a reduction in particulate and/or filmy contamination on parts and/or end components.

Cleanroom Requirements

In practice, cleanrooms are usually divided into so-called "ISO classes" today, whereby the classification - and this is important to note - always refers to the number and size of airborne particles. Therefore, specifying a sufficient ISO class for the operation of the cleanroom does not automatically guarantee cleanliness on the end product. Rather, one should not be "blinded" by the cleanroom class specification. Even the supposedly "perfect" cleanroom with a correspondingly impressive cleanroom class does not automatically offer perfect component cleanliness! Rather, a whole range of other measures are necessary for this, including perfect component cleaning, high-quality protective work clothing and, above all, ultra-clean packaging materials!

Clean Rooms at Sealtech

Sealtech operates 2 different clean rooms of classes 8 and 5; the respective ISO classes are of course achieved when the room is fully occupied and when measuring “in operation”, i.e. in full production mode!

Cleanroom ISO 8

Cleanroom ISO 8

We use our ISO Class 8 cleanroom for components with increased requirements for particulate component cleanliness. According to ISO 14644-1, an ISO 8 cleanroom must comply with the following specifications regarding the number of particles per cubic meter: ≥ 0.5 µm: 3,520,000 ≥ 1 µm: 832,000
Cleanroom ISO 5

Cleanroom ISO 5

We offer the ISO 5 class cleanroom for customers with particularly critical components that have even higher requirements for cleanliness. According to ISO 14644-1, an ISO 5 cleanroom must comply with the following specifications regarding the number of particles per cubic meter of air: ≥ 0.1 µm: 100,000 ≥ 0.2 µm: 23,700
